“Soot infused snow is most responsible for Arctic Warming and meltdown”.
Source: page 19 of the following presentation: One ship pollutes as much as 50 million cars by Jørn P. Winkler.
In his article in Gizmag published April 23, 2009, Paul Evans reveals the huge impact a renewable energy procurement chain will have on GHG.
Stating that one of these giants may produce as much Green House Gases as 50 million cars, he keeps on revealing that “15 of the world’s biggest ships may now emit as much pollution as all the world’s 760 million cars”.
These will be the kind of ships Seanergy allows to cross the Arctic passages without pollution.
Here is one example: with one of the twin Maersk ship with a capacity of 15,200 containers. Size: 1,300-ft long and 183-ft wide. It can sustain a steady pace of 25,5 knots (47,2 km/h). Now, 15,200 containers at 25,5 knot equals 380 tons of fuel rejected per day.
